Karya ini termasuk dalam periode “Penari” ini mencerminkan rasa kesatuan Nyoman Gunarsa dengan seni tradisional Bali yang melekat. Pemahaman seni Budaya Bali yang telah menjadi satu kesatuan dengan kehidupannya, karena saat itu Gunarsa kecil juga pandai menyukai dunia tari dan pewayangan. Sehingga, karya dengan judul “Penari” ini secara visual 3 figur penari dengan posisi ‘androis’ yaitu posisi wajah miring dari samping, cenderung pipih, sedangkan posisi tubuh ke bawah seolah dari depan. Hal ini masih terlihat adanya jejak lukisan wayang, tetapi telah melalui pengembangan adanya perspektif. Kebebasan sang pelukis untuk menginterpretasi objek lukisan, menunjukkan adanya inovasi dan kreativitas tanpa batas. Secara teknis, lukisan ini sama dengan karya Gunarsa yang lain, yaitu mengeksplorasi goresan kuas atau brushstroke yang dinamis, tekstur nyata/tebal, disertai dengan pelototan warna langsung dari tube. Warna cenderung ke sifat monokromatik, yaitu dominan warna biru, dari biru gelap ke arah biru keputih-putihan. Meskipun tampilan warna dalam karya ini cenderung ke monokromatik, tetapi tidak mengurangi kedinamikan gerak dari ciri khas Gunarsa, karena diimbangi dengan goresan garis yang bebas.

His understanding of Balinese art and culture that has become an integral part of his life. It occurred because young Gunarsa was also good at the world of dance and puppetry at that time. Thus, the work with the title “Dancers” is visually 3 dancer figures with “androis” positions, namely the position of the face tilted from the side, tends to be flat, while the body position down as if from the front. This still shows the traces of puppet paintings, but has gone through the development of perspectives. The freedom of the painter to interpret the object of painting shows the existence of innovation and creativity without limits. Technically, this painting is the same as the other Gunarsa‟s works, namely exploring brush strokes or dynamic brushstrokes, thick / real textures, accompanied by color glaring directly from the tube. Color tends to be monochromatic, which is predominantly blue, from dark blue to whitish blue. Although the appearance of colors in this work tends to be monochromatic, it does not reduce the dynamism of the movement from the characteristic of Gunarsa, because it is balanced with free line scratches.
